Since the announcement of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, may God have mercy on him, to establish the University of the Northern Borders on 04/20/1428 AH in Arar, his most important directives were the advancement of higher education and quantitative and qualitative scientific research. These royal orders engage the university and its full energies with the local community to achieve comprehensive development and sustainability. The most crucial objective of the Vice Presidency for Postgraduate Studies is to encourage interest in scientific research and support for authorship, translation, and scientific publishing. The vice presidency also pays great attention to scholarship students to prepare competent citizens qualified to perform their duty, advance their Arab and Islamic nation, and keep pace with the changes of the times and aspirations for the future. In addition, it pays attention to research programs and partnerships and the optimal investment of all resources and capabilities of the university and its development; in this regard, the Vice Presidency for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research is one of the main pillars through which the university operates under the direct management of His Excellency the Rector of the University to prepare strategies that ensure keeping pace with the scientific research process of higher education. Furthermore, this activates the knowledge society and starts local, regional and international knowledge competitions.
