About the Office

The Intellectual Property and Patents Office at Northern Borders University is dedicated to supporting scientific research, innovation, and creativity among its members. By providing resources, equipment, and investment in human and financial aspects, the office aims to advance the university and its researchers. The office plays a crucial role in protecting intellectual property by documenting inventors' relationships with the university, preserving their rights, and educating them on their responsibilities. It serves as a regulatory for inventors within and outside the university, offering support for registering, protecting, marketing, and leveraging patents into valuable products. 1. Providing facilities that encourage inventors to efficiently register their inventions through simple procedures.

2. Converting innovations into tangible commercial and industrial products.

3. Contributing to technology transfer, localization, and local development while promoting the knowledge economy in alignment with Vision 2030.

4. Promoting respect for intellectual property rights within and beyond the university by recommending necessary policies and procedures.

5. Fostering a culture of innovation and invention both on campus and in the broader community, with a focus on nurturing a new generation of researchers and inventors across scientific and technical disciplines.

Beneficiaries of the Office's Services

  1. Anyone affiliated with Northern Borders University who creates an invention while on duty or studying, receives benefits if the invention is a result of university support (financial, technical, or material) This includes faculty members, employees, collaborators, and visiting professors, students.
  2. Non-university members, Saudi inventors and others, whether residents or non-residents of the Kingdom in accordance with the conditions set by the university.
